Preview of Fernando Gonzalez

The 10th ranked player in the world in the ATP World Rankings is Fernando Gonzalez. In 2010 a significant amount of success has already been enjoyed by Gonzalez, winning 14 matches and losing just 5 at this point on the season.

Last year just one Singles Title was won the entire year by this tennis betting star Gonzalez. To imagine a player that hopes to be one of the top ten players in the world without multiple singles titles in a year is difficult. Gonzalez has had success in his overall record on the season but has struggled as he has gotten to the final rounds of tournaments this year.

It seems that all of the tools necessary to beat inferior players has been with Gonzalez, but each time he gets to a point in the tournament where he plays the high level players, he struggles. A single player that is ranked higher than he is in the ATP World Rankings has not been beaten by Gonzalez up to this point. The lone bright spot in his matches against top players was his match against Andy Roddick.

In the Australian Open, betting on tennis favorite Andy Roddick was played with Gonzalez in the 4th round. The match was stretched amazingly by Gonzalez to 5 sets against Roddick and looked excellent. This represents a lone bright spot against higher ranked players.

In another match the 8th ranked player in the world, Robin Soderling beat Gonzalez badly. He lost 0-6 in his first set and later dropped another set 2-6. If Gonzalez cannot gain some mental toughness while playing the world’s top players it will be difficult for him to climb any further in the rankings this year.
