Professional Tennis Player – Tomas Berdych
A player who has been steady and consistent all year is Tomas Berdych. The ability to advance far into the tournament has been demonstrated by Berdych in almost every tournament played so far on the season. This has helped him recently jump back into the 15th spot in the ATP World Rankings.
At least the quarterfinal round of the betting on tennis tournament has been advanced by Berdych in five different tournaments this year. A semifinal and a championship appearance are included in these 5 quarterfinal appearances. One of the few things holding Berdych back from reaching the next level this year has been Andy Roddick.
Berdych has run into Andy Roddick three times in those tournaments of the 5 times that Berdych has advanced to the quarterfinals or later. Unfortunately each and every meeting of Berdych has fallen with Roddick on the year. In one of the other quarterfinal appearances Berdych lost to Rafael Nadal, another top level player in the world.
Berdych has managed to win other big matches, including a semifinal victory over Robin Soderling in order to advance to the championship round of the tournament although he has not been able to beat those two players in the late rounds of tournaments. Earlier in the same tournament top ranked player Roger Federer was taken on by Berdych in a successful upset attempt.
The potential of Berdych to be near the top in the men’s tennis world can be seen, but still some work is to be done if this tennis betting favorite wants to get there. The ability to beat top level players has been demonstrated by him, but it appears that some players, such as Andy Roddick, may still have a clear edge over him.
