Robin Soderling – Playing His Best Tennis at Present

In the world tennis rankings Robin Soderling currently stands in the 8th slot. Having recently reached the 7th spot in the world rankings, the highest he has ever been in his career, Robin Soderling is playing at the highest level of his career so far.

So far this season Soderling has been very good. Including a Singles Title, He has put together a 16-5 record in 2010. The tournament win came at the ABM AMRO Championship in the Netherlands. Two other times on the season He has also managed to reach the semifinals.

Soderling did not make a good showing at the Australian Open, though he has been solid for the greater part of the season. Often times the lower ranked players come out playing really well in the Grand Slam tournaments. They want to prove to the world that they have potential in the tennis world. Unfortunately, to lose his first match in the tournament does not excuse the 8th ranked player in the world. If Soderling wants to prove that he is one of the greatest players in the world he will need to have better showings at the Grand Slam tournaments.

Soderling is still very close to Andy Roddick in competition for the 7th ranking in the world, despite the poor finish in the Australian Open. He has the potential to keep moving up with a few strong performances.

Even though he has yet to play on a clay court Soderling is already having a solid season. On the clay courts Last year he was actually much more successful. As the clay tournaments come we could see Soderling take an advantage over some of the other top players.
