Stanislas Wawrinka – A Pro Tennis Player
Stanislas Wawrinka is at the 20th position in the rankings to finish off the top 20 players in the ATP World Rankings. Several spots had recently been jumped by Stanislas Wawrinka in the rankings to join the top 20 following a Singles Title at the Grand Prix Hassan II.
Stanislas Wawrinka looked impressive in the championship match of the Grand Prix Hassan II. The championship match was won 6-2, 6-3 over Victor Hanescu of Romania.
Every single match that he has been the tennis betting favorite to win all year has really been won by Wawrinka and he is 12-4 on the year. His 4 losses have come to Marin Cilic(twice), David Ferrer, and Mikhail Youzhny. The higher ranked players in the ATP World Standings than Wawrinka are each of these players.
Wawrinka has won all of the matches that he has been the favorite in is a positive thing to realize in some ways, but negative connotations are there inother ways. In only winning the matches he is the favorite in, currently he may not be any better than the 20th player in the world is apparent. It is difficult to realize that you have hit your limit, but in losing to every player that is ranked higher than him, it is possible that Wawrinka simply does not belong any higher than 20th in the ATP World Rankings.
Wawrinka will need to prove it through victories over the world’s top level betting on tennis players if he hopes to prove that he is a better player than the 20th best in the world. The opportunity has been with Wawrinka in almost every event to play the best players in the world, with so many wins over the players he is favored over.
It’s a simple verdict: matches against higher ranked players are needed to win by Wawrinka in order to move up. I do not see Wawrinka moving up much further in the rankings if this does not happen.
