Tennis Star Andy Murray

Currently the 4th ranked player in ATP World Tour is Andy Murray. In 2010 a 13-5 record has been received by Murray on the season. Though it is early in the year, Murray has already managed to earn more than 1 million dollars on the season.  This is the 3rd highest total in the world, only behind Andy Roddick and Roger Federer.

Only 22 years old is Murray and two solid years in a row had been with him, winning at least 5 singles titles in each year. Mixed results have been in Murray’s season so far. Murray became just the second British player ever to reach the final match in two separate Grand Slam tournaments this year. This tennis betting icon faced Roger Federer in the final round of the Australian Open. He lost in straight sets but the potential to get to the top in that match had been shown by him.

A lot of success had also been with him at the BNP Paribas Open, reaching the quarter finals. Some great efforts from Murray are represented in these two tournaments, but not everything has been so great this year.

Betting on tennis star Murray struggled at the ATP Masters Series Sony Ericsson Open tournament. A bye was received by him in the first round, but he then lost in the 2nd round in straight sets to Mardy Fish. This loss caused him to lose his ranking as the 3rd best player in the world to Rafael Nadal.

Flashes of brilliance from Murray have been seen this year, but he will need to win those early rounds every tournament if he hopes to enter the elite status of a 1st or 2nd ranked player.
