Caroline Wozniacki – A Stella Start to 2010
The 19 year old out of Denmark, Caroline Wozniacki has enjoyed a stellar start to 2010. She has already managed to win a Singles Title and has started the season with a 17-5 record. This strong start has helped her to fill the 2nd position in the WTA World Rankings.
This season, Wozniacki has shown the ability to dominate at times. She has managed to beat her opponent 6-0 at four different times, in her 22 matches played this year. This sort of dominance can take the life out of an opponent, causing them to lose their confidence during the match.
While under pressure Wozniacki has also shown the ability to continue fighting. In a close match it is impressive to show that you can come through and it is also impressive to not allow your opponent to win points at all. She has managed to win 3 tiebreakers already this season. This shows that she is able to come through under pressure even when every shot or every point is held under scrutiny.
In her quest for the top ranking in the WTA World Rankings Her ability to dominate and play under pressure will serve her well. She may have the potential to keep rising in the charts as One month ago she reached the number 2 ranking for the first time in her career.
At 19 years old she could represent the next generation of women’s tennis, Even if she is not able to pass Serena Williams right away. This year she can remain consistent and near the top of the game she will have the opportunity to prove that.
