Na Li Trying for a Comeback into Top 10
To the 2010 season so far, Na Li has had a disappointing start. Li has not shown the strengths typical of a top 20 player and is the 16th ranked player in the world according to the WTA World Rankings.
In comparison to her 7 losses, Li has only been able to muster 8 wins on the year. Li has put forth a very disappointing effort in each event, With the exception of 1 tournament on the year. Li has been eliminated within her first two matches 5 times on the season. In her play, these results point towards a decline.
To come through in close matches, Part of the struggle of Li this year has been her inability. Li has managed to win just twice while losing 6 times, Out of 8 tiebreak opportunities on the year. It is difficult to be an elite player when your skills don’t show through while the game is on the line.
Li have been plagued to unforced errors throughout her career. Her inability to hit a large variety of shots makes her predictable, along with her unforced errors. She also has been injury prone throughout her career.
If she hopes to return to the 10th ranking that she held earlier in the year , Li has a lot of changes to make. Along with other players that are making comebacks may prevent Li from making progressing forward again in the rankings as there are a lot of great players there.
